5 Kitchen Packing Suggestions and Tips

Jul12
Thoughtful and careful packing of the kitchen can save you from losing a lot of time and your good mood. There are five main rules you need to follow in order for your kitchen to be organized and easy to use. This includes planning and preparing for the whole process of packing, giving priority to the different items, taking into consideration the type of packing each separate object needs, not forgetting to park smartly, safely and comfortably and making your unpacking easy by performing a thorough final check of all of your possessions.

1. Plan the packing
Firstly, you need to plan the whole packing job in advance and do what is necessary in order to get off to an easy start. Divide all the different items from the kitchen into groups - for instance, single out all the glasses in one place and then do the same with the knives for example. This is a good time to also choose what you will take with you and what you will leave behind or otherwise said - what you will dump. In addition, you will certainly need to have bought boxes or bags and some sort of packaging material beforehand. Usually there are three types of boxes-Medium (18x14x12), which are suitable for the smallest of kitchen items (little frying pans, coffee machines); Large - great for the items that are more unwieldy and difficult to pack (20x20x15); and Kitchen (18x18x22), which are the perfect choice for fragile items.

2. Pack smartly
Afterwards, its time to begin and you have to do it cleverly, according to the groups of items you have created. The very first things you need to pack are the essentials - those things you will need right away when you start unpacking. You should consider things like the kitchen utensils, plates and towels - the basic objects you need in order not to be starving for too long. After you are done with the important items, you should begin with all the rest - the fragile ones followed by the smaller ones and finally the big ones, in case you decide to call a friend to give you a hand with them.

3. Pack securely
Then, you need to make sure you have packed everything the right way. Fragile belongings need to be packed by the type: glasses with glasses, dishes with dishes, in order to be in the box in the most secure manner. Furthermore, this frees up quite a lot of space. Also, they should be packed tightly and be as immovable as possible. Fill the empty spaces in the box with paper or bubble wrap and don't make the box too heavy, or else you are in danger of dropping it and breaking it all. With utensils you need to make sure that you have some spares ready to use before unpacking. If you intend to pack food, make sure you pack only the items that won't go bad. A golden rule is to place the heavy things at the bottom of the box and the lighter ones upon them.

4. Do a final check
The fifth and final step is to check everything - move and lift every box in order to see if the objects in it move around too much, if you are able to carry the box, and if unpacking it will be easy and effortless enough. Don't forget to tape all the boxes. Then, when you are sure that you have done the job the right way, to ease your task even further, use a magic marker in order to label the boxes so that you know where exactly the possessions you require are placed.
