The London E postcode area, also shortened to the E postcode area is the Eastern postcode area in the LONDON post town. It covers parts of east London as well as Sewadstone, which is in Essex, not London. While many of London's postcodes were formed in 1856 and 1857, the E postcode as it currently exists was created in 1866. It was formed when the NE and E areas were merged - they had been around since 1858, but changing demographics called for a redrawing. Then, in 1917, the postcode area was broken down into numbered districts, which were labeled by location, according to the alphabet.
There have been further divisions within some of the numbered E postcode districts, such as E9 and today there are 22 postcode districts within the E postcode area. In addition to the postcode districts numbered E1 through E20, there are also the E1W district (Wapping) and two non-geographic postcode districts - E77 and E98 - which are reserved for business with a high volume of mail.
The E4 postcode district was once called the Chingford district, before the alphanumeric labels were added. Today, E4 is within the LONDON post town and falls within three different local authority areas: Waltham Forest, Epping Forest (in Essex), and Enfield. It covers Chingford, Highams Park, Sewardstone, and part of Upper Edmonton. E4 is the northernmost district within the E postcode area and is bordered by only one other district, E17 to the south. North of the Eastern postcode area is EN (Enfield); to the east is the Ilford area (IG); to the south is London SE; to the southwest is London EC and to the west is the London N postcode area. Waltham Forest
parking and Enfield
parking can be arranged through the council websites, while Epping Forest parking falls under the Essex
county council. While some people will try to complete their home removal on their own, we strongly suggest hiring a moving company. This advice is for your own safety, as well as for the safety of your belongings. If you do wish to go it alone, remember that additional insurance for your car will be needed. When you hire us, however, you won't need to worry about any of that - all you'll need to worry about is where you want us to put everything in your new home once we arrive with all your things. So take the worry out of moving and ease your way into your new E4 home by calling now on !
