Plan Ahead to Ensure a Relaxed Man and Van Service

Aug22
Planning ahead is one of the keys to a relaxed man and van service. It would essentially allow you to assess your options and fill in any gaps in your plan for the move. First of all, you need to find a man and van service suited to your needs. There are a lot of question and factors here that you can be asking and considering. Among all of those numerous man and van services out there, which one should you choose and how to choose correctly? It could be your first time. Or maybe, you already have had a good experience with a certain firm and hiring them again might be a good idea. Or maybe you have had a really bad experience with your previous such service; so now you are trying to be wary.

Either way, it is best to do research and if possible, ask around a bit. Because, there is a possibility that the company you have had the great experience with may not be able to provide veritable services as per specifications of your new move. And asking around and researching is probably the best option, in case of previous bad service experience, if you don’t want to repeat the disastrous experience again.  Okay, you asked around, did your own research and voila, you found a suitable service. Now what? Inquire further: What services exactly would they be providing and how far would they be able to help with the move? Would they be able to provide all of the services that you need?  Would they be charging any extra (hidden) charges? Is the crew helpful and polite? Do they have a reliable profile and reputation? After you have made sure that this is exactly the firm that you want to hire, ask around a bit more and make sure that the service claims of the firm are legitimate. Additionally, make sure that they are insured and take full responsibility of your goods throughout the move. Ask them whether they would be able to turn up in case of worst possible scenarios such as traffic problems and/or accidents, bad weather, and possibly breakdowns.

Make sure that they know your area well, so that they do not get lost and also to avoid any further delays, etc.  Some man and van services charge you a fixed price for the whole move/trip, others would charge hourly. If you take the fixed price option for the move, make sure that things are not done over-hastily. Be thorough and systematic. On the other hand, if you are paying by the hour, it would be best for you to keep the expenses to a minimum by disassembling the goods that are too large to fit through doors and having everything packed, beforehand. Try to stay as organised as possible. Most good companies can disassemble and reassemble your furniture for you. So knowing beforehand whether your company provides such service would save you a lot of time and effort. Also, make it clear to your man and van service where and in which rooms would you like the furniture and other heavy stuff to be placed. Keeping a clear and calm head throughout will help you greatly.
